Barendrecht (population: 37,257 as of 2004) is a town in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality covers an area of 21.72 kmē (of which 1.45 kmē water). The municipality of Barendrecht also includes the following towns, villages and townships: Barendrecht-Carnisselande, Smitshoek.
